This year, Moseley School and Sixth Form have hosted conferences for the most able Year 5 students from some of our local primary schools. It is a fantastic opportunity for them to experience and engage in a range of interactive learning activities at Moseley, whilst having a chance to see what life at Moseley School could be like for them in the future.
The conferences focus on challenging and enhancing students’ knowledge and skills in the three core subjects: Maths, English and Science. Each student has attended three interactive and engaging workshops designed to promote higher-order thinking skills and effective collaboration in order to complete a range of tasks. Activities range from cracking a murder mystery through forensic analysis of evidence in Science and negotiating survival of a disaster in English, to problem solving in Maths.
Many of our High Prior Attaining Year 7 students have developed their leadership skills, by supporting these conferences and leading small groups.
Feedback from our Year 5 visitors has, as always, been extremely positive.
