Dear Parents and Carers
We would ask our families to support their children in attending school every day and arriving at school to begin learning at 8.40am. This means students should be in school by 8.35am, and should be sat in their chairs starting their lesson at 8.40am.
Students arriving late to lesson 1 cause significant disruption to the learning of those that arrived on time.
Students arriving to school after 8.35am will be placed in a same day 1 hour detention.
Government research tells us that even a few days missed per year will have a very significant impact on students GCSE outcomes.
If there is a very good reason that your child cannot attend school you must report this before 8.30am via our attendance line. Please call 0121 566 6444 and select option 1.
If the attendance team do not answer the call, please leave a message on the answerphone with your child’s name, year group, form group and reason for the absence.
Please do not bypass this option and speak to reception as you will be asked to call the school line again and press option 1.
We look forward to a positive year, hopefully without any disrupted learning.
Mr A Bate
