Autumn adventures

It’s been a busy year so far for our Duke of Edinburgh students with students working to complete their DofE award as well as over 70 new participants on DofE.

In September we went on Bronze and Silver expeditions to Blackwell and the Long Mynd. Unfortunately rain stopped play for our Silver group in the Long Mynd but the pupils demonstrated plenty of character and resilience battling through heavy rain for 2 days solid! We also visited the Clent Hills with our new Silver cohort to develop our navigation skills and enjoy another wet walk… the weather hasn’t been kind to us this year so far!!

Pupils across our Bronze and Silver groups have given their time to support several volunteering projects in our community including a visit to the local food bank, giving time to older members of our community and supporting over 150 Santa Runners at the Acorns Santa Run in the City centre. Volunteering remains a core principle of our DofE programme and our pupils always represent themselves and our school showing excellence in character.
