Dear Parents and Carers
On Friday 19th November it is Children in Need. This national event aims to raise money and awareness for many important causes that help to support young people all around the UK. Last year this charity raised an amazing £57 million which helped fund projects locally in Birmingham as well as nationally. This year’s fundraising aims to beat this total!
As a school community we are engaging in fundraising and awareness raising activities this week culminating in a Non-Uniform day on Friday 19th November. For a cash donation of £1 your child can wear non-uniform to school on Friday. This is to be given to your child’s form tutor during their tutor time on Friday.
Can we please ask for your support in ensuring that appropriate clothing for the school environment is worn on this day, if students have PE they do not need to wear their normal PE kit but should wear clothing they can participate in sport in. Student attendance is mandatory on this day and we ask that students approach this day with the same high standards of behaviour and focus on their learning as normally would be expected to achieve the excellence we pursue each school day.
We hope that through our collective school efforts to support Children in Need our students are more aware of those less fortunate than themselves and we can contribute to another fantastic year of fundraising for charity.
