Filming with Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali is one of the best elite players in World Cricket and has demonstrated excellence at club and international level in his sporting career.

As a former student at Moseley School and Sixth Form, Moeen provides an inspiration for our students and is a shining example of what our students can achieve- using  skills, experience and character developed at school to become successful.

In 2019 Moeen was part of the England team who won the Men’s World Cup, beating New Zealand in the final. To celebrate this success a documentary called “The Greatest Game” is being produced to celebrate England’s historic World Cup win, charting England’s reinvention from the disastrous 2015 World Cup and introducing all of the players and their backstories.

Our students had the opportunity to be part of this filming and will appear in the final documentary which will be shown later in 2022. As part of the filming our pupils were able to talk to Moeen and meet their cricketing idol. The director of the film said “The boys who were part of the filming were great, there was some fierce bowling and a big six!”

This experience has helped to inspire our pupils and see a shining example of excellence developed at Moseley School and Sixth Form. We hope that this experience helps our students develop their own ambitions to be excellent in the future.
