New school meals payment system.

Dear Parents/ Carers,

Parent Pay

From September, we are introducing some changes in order to maximise the safety measures we have in place. We appreciate this will require some work on your part and thank you in advance for supporting the school in introducing these safer methods of operating for everyone’s health and well-being.

We are pleased to share with you that Moseley School and Sixth Form will be introducing Parent Pay. This means a few important things for parents and carers.

The school will no longer be accepting cash as of Thursday 3rd September 2020. Therefore it is very important your child’s meal account is topped up at home by debit/ credit card. You can also do this at your local post office. There will be no means in the school to top up the account with cash.

You will receive another Groupcall text message shortly, which will explain how the system works and detail steps to take to activate your Parent Pay account. If you have any queries whilst activating your parent pay account you can email us on, parentpayenquiries@moseley.bham.sch.uk 

Year 7 and 12 students

For students who will be joining Moseley School and Sixth Form for the first time in year 7 and year 12 you will receive your Parent Pay activation message on Tuesday 1st September 2020. This is due to the system enrolling new students and the time that this takes to do this. The school cannot activate accounts till the official academic year begins.

Please note due to the short time between the message reaching you and your child’s first day at school we would like you to be prepared and ready to activate and top up the students account. All year 7 students will be issued with a tie on the first day of school. It is important that the tie is paid for through the Parent Pay account no later than Friday 4th September 2020. Each tie will cost £4.50. We will be contacting those who have not made a payment.

Cashless catering system

As we will not be accepting cash in the school we will issue every student a catering account card, they can use this like a contactless card. This card will replace the bio metrics system we have used. So there will be no need to scan fingers to access student’s catering accounts. This is hygienically a safer way to buy meals.

You will be able to view student catering account balances through your Parent Pay account.

Catering

We are very passionate about keeping our staff and students as safe as possible therefore we have introduced a new self-service menu, this will allow students to pick up the food they like; the foods will be placed in disposable dishes. The canteen area will have plenty of hand sanitisers placed both on entry and inside. After each year group has eaten the table and chairs will be sanitised before the next year group uses them.

Reception and visitors

We would like to inform all parents that the school will be accepting visitors on an appointment basis only. If you wish to see someone in the school you must arrange an appointment, we recommend one person to attend only. If more than one person must attend we may ask you to wait outside until your appointment has arrived. This will ensure we are keeping everyone safe.
