Within level 3 programmes students are able to choose from an academic pathway, a vocational pathway or a mixture of both. The academic pathway will allow students to study A levels and the vocational pathway will allow students to study BTECs at Level 3.
Within Level 2 programmes, students are able to choose from a number of vocational pathways to suit their interests and abilities. This year, this includes Business Studies and Health & Social Care. Students who do not have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 must also study these subjects. This is a government requirement which also applies to Level 3 students. If students are successful they will then be allowed to progress onto a Level 3 pathway the following year. Each year we retain a number of students who have done exactly this.
Students who are successful on either programme will be eligible to apply for a place at any of the country’s leading universities. In previous years, we are proud to have had students gain places at Britain’s most selective universities including Oxford, Birmingham and Aston.
Our A level average point score is 32.6 (1.5pts above 2017 national average). Please look through the booklet and at the wide range of courses on offer. Students are encouraged to work hard with support from staff throughout their programme of study.
In addition to this, we have a varied enrichment programme of opportunities and also offer further personalised support through our tutoring programme, pastoral team, Sixth Form library, Access Programme and the use of our Academic coach.
This is an exciting time as you embark on further studies that will open the door to a range of possibilities.
Yours sincerely
