Mariam was an external student to Moseley Sixth Form, achieving her GCSE results at Perry Beeches school and joining us in 2016.

Mariam was known by all for her friendly and outgoing personality and was a fantastic character in our Sixth form. She formed relationships and made friends quickly but also worked incredibly hard in her studies.

She was involved with peer mentoring for the subject of Sociology and helped many of her peers develop their skills within this subject. She applied for a scheme called the’A2B scheme’ which required her to write an academic assignment on the topic of gender stereotypes and helped her gain a place at the University of Birmingham.

She was supported throughout this by the Sixth Form Academic Coach. She achieved a B in Sociology, B in Business A level and a B in Psychology and she now has a place at the University of Birmingham to read Liberal Arts.

Mariam Jamil

Riyad was a student at Moseley School from 2012 and decided to study at Moseley Sixth Form after achieving his GCSE grades in 2016.

He was an excellent student in all aspects; conscientious, organised, respectful and had positive relationships with all staff and students that he worked with. In the Sixth Form areas, he was always helpful and willing to assist the team run the library and joined the book club in his second year here, thoroughly enjoying the discussions about varying literature.

He used his skills to mentor lower school students and set an outstanding example of what a Sixth Form student should be like. He achieved a B in Business A level, A in Arabic, A in Mathematics and a B in Physics and he now has a place at the University of Leeds to read Physics.
