Awarded for our school efforts in sustainable travel.
Modeshift STARSÂ (Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools) is a national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel in their school and local communities. Moseley School and Sixth Form have taken on the challenge to increase our levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of our students, staff and the wider community.
Over 3,700 schools have registered with the scheme and the top 90 schools in the country received nominations for the recent Midlands and North West Modeshift STARS School of the Region 2019 Awards. Through the hard work of students and staff at Moseley School and Sixth Form we were lucky enough to win the Birmingham Schools Secondary School of the Year Award.
We were accredited with the Bronze Level Award in July which was gained by completing 20 different travel initiatives and a whole school survey. In the coming months we will be working towards our Silver Award and have applied for funding to help us spread the message of sustainable travel.
