Dear Parent and Carers,
I am writing to thank you for your support during this important time in your child’s education. Your child will have brought home revision pack containing a countdown to the GCSE’s, a revision timetable, a blank timetable to fill in so that your child’s knows what time they will be doing their revision, and an exercise book for them to initially do their revision in.
Every Monday your child’s pack will be checked for what they have done in the previous week (including the weekend) along with them working on a specific revision activity i.e. writing a flash card.
Over the next two weeks your child will bring home revision packs in English, Maths and Science. These packs have been specifically created to enable your child to achieve in the forthcoming PPE’s (the PPE’s start in 8 weeks’ time, this includes the half term holiday). Completion of these will therefore see an increase in your child’s progress from year 10.
These packs will be required to be out in every English, Maths and Science lesson, just like they would get out their planner and pencil case. Work within these lessons will be based upon these packs and so it is fundamentally important that these packs are completed in their revision sessions at home on the nights that they have indicted on their revision timetable.
Every night your child should spend at least 30 minutes on two subjects (1hour per night) and 30 minutes on three subjects (1 hour 30 minutes at the weekend) on independent revision which should be separate from any homework. This can be either the study packs, Microsoft Teams or GCSE Pod. Your child should be able to access work through teams and GCSE Pod as this can be accessed at any time at home with access to an electronic device. All students should have a log on for both Teams and GCSE Pod. Please do not hesitate to contact me if this is an issue.
Thank you for your support in this matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information.
Mr K Harris
